Job Title: Kitchen Porter (part time, 4 days a week)

About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in keeping the kitchen running smoothly. You will help maintain cleanliness, support the kitchen team, and assist with light food preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and to a high standard

  • Keeping work areas, floors, and surfaces clean and sanitised

  • Emptying bins and managing waste disposal

  • Assisting with light food preparation (e.g., chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients) as directed by the chef

  • Receiving and storing deliveries safely and efficiently

  • Following food hygiene and safety guidelines at all times

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage, but not essential – training will be provided

  • Good communication skills and a positive team attitude

  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently during busy periods

  • Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate loads

Job Title: Trainee Shop Manager/Barista – Farm Shop & Coffee Shop

Hours: Full-Time, 9:30am – 5:30pm Tuesday to Saturday 

Location: The Croft Farm Shop

About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Shop Manager to join our friendly team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll learn all aspects of running our busy farm shop and coffee shop, from customer service and stock control to team management and day-to-day operations. You’ll work closely with the current manager and owners, gaining the skills and experience needed to take on full management responsibilities in the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service in both the farm shop and coffee shop

  • Assist with daily operations including opening, closing, cash handling, and till management

  • Support stock ordering, rotation, and merchandising to maintain attractive displays

  • Help manage and motivate team members, ensuring a positive work environment

  • Monitor product quality and maintain high standards of presentation and hygiene

  • Assist with planning promotions, seasonal events, and new product launches

  • Handle customer queries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally

  • Learn and follow all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations

Requirements

  • Previous retail or hospitality experience required 

  • Strong people skills and a friendly, approachable manner

  • Organised, reliable, and able to multitask in a busy environment

  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities

  • Flexible to work occasional Thursday evenings during the summer months preferable
